Who are we ?

Vulcan is a small, fully independent editorial team. We're a tight-knit crew — mostly young, but above all, passionate. Our only source of income is our readers. Our editorial independence depends on it.

Sylvain is an entrepreneur, a pilot, a dad, and many other things too. When it comes to cars, he's the kind of enthusiast you rarely meet — the kind who loves them so much he sometimes forgets reason. A Porsche lover at heart, but not narrow-minded. He’s the kind of guy who’ll happily daily drive a Caterham Super Seven. Light is right is more or less his personal motto. Within the Vulcan team, besides being the boss, he’s also the one who really drives. After years of experience behind the wheel of all kinds of machines, plus a BPJEPS in driving, he’s starting to get the hang of it. Fair warning: he’s sometimes a (self-proclaimed) boomer.

Valentine is part of Vulcan’s editorial team. She wears many hats — handling reader feedback, managing the mag’s comms, and taking care of all kinds of admin. A BMW fan at heart, but not dogmatic — she can appreciate the soul of any car that crosses her path.

Mayeul bought his first car at 13 and immediately dove into mechanics. Since then, he’s been collecting heartbreak machines to give them the love they probably never had. No engine holds many secrets from him — or almost none, anyway. Mayeul enjoys a Sunday cruise in a Peugeot 403 just as much as a track day throwing Porsches sideways — that contradiction is at the heart of who he is. Always well-dressed, he handles both words and steering wheels like a pro.

They’re not exactly versed in the codes and quirks of the automotive press — and that’s a good thing. It brings a fresh eye and an original twist to Vulcan’s visual creations. Experts in their field, they’re obsessed with detail and polish every design to perfection. Every day, they learn a bit more about the crazy bunch they’ve joined.
